Free NFL Play 60 health-focused event for kids and families, Saturday, April 30
(Stark County, OH) April 26, 2016 – United Way Young Leaders Society will host its second annual NFL Play 60 indoor event Saturday, April 30, noon-3 p.m. at the Edward “Peel” Coleman Community Center in Canton. NFL Play 60 is an initiative designed to help children be active 60 minutes each day and stay healthy.
Booths with fun activities teaching children lessons in getting active, eating healthily and maintaining a healthy lifestyle will be set up around the building along with other group activities helping participants reach 60 minutes of play for the day. 
Activity booths sponsors include Canton Charge, Canton Parks and Recreation, First Tee of Canton, Intelligent Fitness, LLC, Live Well Stark, McMichael Chiropractic, Pro Football Hall of Fame, StarkFresh, Stark Parks, YMCA and Yoga Strong, LLC.
Families will have a chance to win free goodie baskets provided by the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Canton Charge, Akron Rubber Ducks and the Eric Snow YMCA.
This free, family-friendly event is for children eight to 12 years old. Registered children will receive an event T-shirt, water bottle and United Way swag bag. Parents and siblings are encouraged to come along, however, all children must be accompanied by a guardian 18 years and older. Pre-registration is available through Walk-ins are also accepted.
“Play 60 is one of the ways we are promoting a healthy community by teaching kids the benefits of exercise,” said Maria Heege, president & CEO, United Way of Greater Stark County. “We look forward to a great turnout where we can engage Stark County’s youth and families and ensure children get their necessary, daily physical activity.”
Children can get moving and fight childhood obesity in rain or shine in the new indoor location at Edward “Peel” Coleman Community Center, 1400 Sherrick Road SE. The community center is also conveniently located on the SARTA bus stop at Sherrick Road and Rennick Court SE, making it easy for everyone to get involved.
