(Canton, OH) November 4, 2020 – If you need help, or know someone that needs help, with up to 3 months’ rent, mortgage or utilities, please visit uwstark.org/covid by November 30 to request assistance through the online application.
Residents must live in the Canton City School District to be eligible. Applications close December 1, 2020. Support will be given to those meeting the eligibility requirements and until funding is exhausted.
The assistance is made possible by a grant from the City of Canton. The grant provides financial assistance to individuals due to loss of job and/or reduction of hours by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“In partnership with the City of Canton, we are here to help provide support to our community during their time of need,” says Maria Heege, President and CEO of United Way of Greater Stark County. “Because of their help, we can assist families in need as quickly as possible, and in advance of the upcoming winter season. It is imperative for families to feel safe and secure at home during this pandemic.”
If you need information on other support services and community programs that can help during this crisis, call 2-1-1, visit 211stark.org, or text your zip code to 898-211.
