NOW IS THE TIME TO LIVE UNITED

Together, we can help our community through financial support and volunteering.

In our community, 36.3% workers lack enough savings to withstand a sudden loss in wages. Our COVID-19 Impact Fund will help workers who have lost their jobs or had reduced hours as a result of this pandemic.

DONATE NOW

As coronavirus reverberates across hospitals, offices, schools, and homes, we are reminded of our most basic shared value. We know that all of us depend on each other for a healthy community. The same priority guides our concern for those most economically vulnerable in a pandemic. This includes the families of hospitality, retail and other hourly workers, among others.

The Need

With public events, schools and workplaces shuttering as the pandemic unfolds, hourly, low-wage workers will experience unprecedented financial hardship. The problem is acute for hospitality workers, retail workers, and other hourly workers, many living paycheck to paycheck, with no clear options for recouping lost wages.

Response

United Way has established the COVID-19 Impact Fund, a dedicated resource for working families affected by the COVID-19 public health emergency. We will mobilize these funds to provide financial assistance to help meet families' basic needs during the COVID-19 crisis.

Volunteer In the community

A network of local non-profit organizations and funding agencies have been working together to identify the areas of need in the Stark County community as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. This group is working to respond to those needs efficiently and effectively. Volunteers are always a critical need for agencies, and as our community recovers, we know that volunteers will be a great need to many.

Please complete this volunteer interest form if you are healthy and have the ability to volunteer once shelter in place has been lifted. United Way is not placing volunteers, but we will share your information with local agencies that are in need of volunteers at this time. The agency will contact you directly to answer questions and finalize details around the volunteer opportunity.
