Birth Certificate and Photo ID
Without a birth certificate or photo identification, individuals and families in our community struggle to find the care they need. Whether it’s a homeless family looking for shelter or an individual seeking addiction treatment, in-house recovery services often require documentation at the time of intake.
About the ID Program
At United Way of Greater Stark County, we work with the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles and area health departments to provide vouchers for free birth certificates, and photo IDs to Stark County residents born in Ohio.
Eligibility for the vouchers:
- Currently receiving support through a homeless shelter
- Currently receiving treatment for drug and/or alcohol addiction
Vouchers for birth certificates and photo IDs may be obtained at our partner shelters and treatment centers. For questions about the program, call our Economic Mobility Center at 330-491-0445.
