Get Connected

Help us shape and inspire the next generation in our community by becoming a mentor. Through United Way of Greater Stark County's Get Connected program, high school students in local schools will be provided the opportunity to develop new professional relationships, as well as learn skills and gain tools to find a successful pathway into the workforce.

We need professional mentors to help provide one-on-one and group opportunities to help connect students to the workplace. Mentors will help guide students through a series of benchmarks to ensure students are ready to work once they leave high school.

The program is funded by local business partners and grants. It aims to prepare students by connecting them to professional relationships, fostering their professional skills through resources and helping develop pathways for students to have successful careers.

I’m going to be the first person in my family to go to college and I’m proud to say that. I just have been having trouble on the process and this program has already benefited me and has boosted my motivation as well. I feel like I have a better chance at college and I just want to be the best I can be because a lot people look to me and expect a lot out of me and I do also. Again, thank you.
