United Way Expands Strong Neighborhoods, Strong Families to Third New
School Building Through Community and Corporate Partnership
CANTON, OHIO (October 9, 2026) – United Way of Greater Stark County is grateful to recognize a
generous gift from Carroll Electric’s People for People Fund in support of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
in Carroll County.
The People for People Fund is made possible by Carroll Electric members who voluntarily round their
monthly electric bills to the nearest dollar. Those small contributions come together to assist members in
need and support organizations working to strengthen our local community.
Since the Imagination Library program launched in Carroll County in March 2020, nearly 50,000
Imagination Library books have been mailed at no cost to more than 1,600 children living in the county. As
of the most recent program update, 750 children under age five were enrolled, approximately 55% of
Carroll County’s eligible population.
Each enrolled child receives a free, age-appropriate book in the mail every month from birth until their fifth
birthday. The books create simple, meaningful opportunities for families to read together, build early
literacy skills and help children imagine what is possible.
United Way appreciates Carroll Electric members and the People for People Fund for helping carry Dolly
Parton’s legacy forward and keeping books arriving in the homes of Carroll County children.
