H-P Products and United Way Work Together to Help Improve Workplace Productivity, Employee Financial Stability and More

(Stark and Carroll Counties, Ohio) January 21, 2021 – H-P Products has partnered with United Way of Greater Stark County to deploy a new program which provides support to retain and strengthen the local workforce.

Prosperity@Work helps employees overcome personal barriers, improve their quality of life and increase their success in the workplace. It is designed to reduce the causes of negative workplace stress by introducing resources to employers to benefit their employees and services that focus on workplace retention, productivity, advancement, financial stability and well-being of workers.

“The challenges brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic have hit our H-P family very hard in a variety of ways”, said Beka Eisenbarth, Vice President of H-P Products. “Our long-standing partnership with United Way allows us to be innovative with how we can better support our H-P family. Our employees have always been and will always be our greatest asset. We will continue to support them in every way we are able and we know we can count on United Way to support us in that endeavor.”

Prosperity@Work is a solution-driven collaboration between United Way of Greater Stark County’s Financial Prosperity Platforms and local workplaces. The program is designed for employers who seek to invest in their employees by providing an additional benefit of a one-on-one resource connector, who is uniquely dedicated to improving employee engagement and increase retention. Connectors work with employees to introduce employees to services that will help them address barriers, set smart goals, provide financial education and establish connections to potential pathways in their employment.

According to the 2020 PwC’s 9th Annual Employee Financial Wellness Survey, many employees are unprepared for short-term cash needs, having less than $1,000 saved to deal with unexpected expenses. The survey also reports that most employees only seek guidance at key decision points or when they are already in crisis. In addition, almost 60% of employees admit they are stressed about their finances and it is their top cause of stress and major distraction at work.

“This program will help set employees up to be in a better position to reach their full potential,” said Maria Heege, President & CEO of United Way of Greater Stark County. “Employers will benefit from the increase in employee financial wellness with an improved bottom line and higher productivity levels. We are excited to partner with H-P Products and work with them to create a foundation for a strategic financial wellness framework for their employees.”

Currently, the Prosperity@Work program is available at H-P Products and Aultman Health Foundation.

Prosperity@Work helps employers retain employees by working with each individual, case by case, and providing solutions to the challenges they are facing in their personal lives. To learn about this program, visit uwstark.org/prosperityatwork.
