(Canton, OH) July 2, 2010 —United Way of Greater Stark County’s Volunteer Center coordinates Day of Caring, an annual community-wide day of hands-on volunteering connecting businesses, organizations, donors and donors with local nonprofit agencies and service providers to work on various service projects. Participation form deadlines for the Sept. 16 event are due July 9 for community agencies and service providers to submit projects and July 19 for workplaces and organizations to volunteer.

For the 16th annual event in 2009, 885 volunteers worked on 68 service projects throughout the community. Forty-four companies were paired with 44 agencies and service providers across Stark County for one of the largest single-day volunteer events in our community. The Day of Caring is sponsored by Grove Appliance, TV & Mattress and Massillon Cable TV, Inc.
