Humphrey has been volunteering twice a week answering calls for United Way’s 2-1-1 Information & Referral since November 2009. During her time at 2-1-1 Humphrey has spent nearly 500 hours assisting clients with human care needs. Humphrey has also dedicated time to the WKDD Radio Thon, Have a Heart, Do Your Part, Hearts with Hope Auction and is a weekly volunteer at her church.

“Heidi’s efforts have allowed 2-1-1 to meet the growing needs of our community,” says Sherri McKinney-Frantz, Director Information and Referral.

The United Way of Greater Stark County Volunteer of the Month award was established to recognize outstanding residents who sacrifice their time and skills to improve the Stark County community. Volunteers will be recognized each month on the United Way of Greater Stark County Web site and will be awarded an official certificate and LIVE UNITED shirt.

Residents can make nominations for the monthly award by filling out the nomination form on the United Way Web site at http://www.uwgsc.org/Volunteer_of_the_month.php and submitting it to Jennifer Drlik, Director Volunteer Resources. United Way Volunteer Resources staff reviews the nominations.

“The United Way of Greater Stark County Volunteer of the Month award is a way for Stark County to thank its many dedicated and often unrecognized volunteers on a regular basis,” says Jennifer Drlik, Director Volunteer Resources. “These volunteers are choosing to make a substantial difference in the Stark County community because they know that without their help, many needs would go unanswered.”
