(Canton, OH) June 7, 2010 — On Jun. 19, United Way’s Women’s Leadership Council and Aultman Health Foundation will co-host a nutrition and wellness booth at the Alliance Farmers’ Market from 9:00 a.m. until Noon. Alliance Farmers’ Market is located at the parking lot at the corner of E. Main St. and Mechanic Ave. in Alliance.

On opening day of the Alliance Farmer’s market, Women’s Leadership Council members will work with Aultman Health Foundation employees to educate the community on the value of nutrition and leading health lives. Stark County residents will be able to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at the market and then head to the Women’s Leadership Council booth to learn new nutritious ways to prepare their purchases. Children are also welcome to stop by and make a craft project to take home.

The Women’s Leadership Council will also be collecting hygiene products such as deodorant, bath soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes and feminine hygiene products to be donated to the Alliance Domestic Violence Shelter and the Alliance YWCA.

The Women’s Leadership Council members focus on education, especially graduation and training beyond high school, for their initiative. The Council is sponsored by Diebold, Incorporated.
