Workplaces are encouraged to Wear Your LIVE UNITED Shirt to Work Day on June 21
(Canton, OH) May24, 2010 — On the longest day of the year, Jun. 21, United Way of Greater Stark County is promoting a county-wide Virtual Day of Action, calling volunteers to action to help their neighbors and show how they LIVE UNITED.
United Way’s Web site lists 201 Ways to Take Action on June 21 and beyond, broken down into priority categories of community need at www.uwgsc.org/Virtual_Day_of_Action.php. Residents, families and workplaces are encouraged to act on at least one of the 201 suggestions or create their own.
United Way of Greater Stark County’s Virtual Day of Action serves as a catalyst to mobilize individuals, families, businesses and organizations to make a difference in the community addressing underlying challenges our community faces in the building blocks of Education, Family & Financial Stability and Health & Basic Needs. United Way believes that these building blocks promote a quality education which leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, a safe place to live and good health.
Volunteers are also being asked to wear their LIVE UNITED shirts to work on Jun. 21 to show support for their Stark County community. To acquire a LIVE UNITED shirt, please call 330-491-9984 and ask for Jennifer Drlik or email jennifer.drlik@uwstark.org.
