United Way Gold Key service award nominations due Mar. 5

(Canton, OH) Feb.17, 2010– Since 1961, United Way of Greater Stark County has recognized community leaders and volunteers for the impact they have made on the Stark County community. The Gold Key service award recognizes volunteers who have consistently demonstrated a high degree of personal dedication and service in a voluntary capacity to United Way or its funded service providers.

 

Nomination forms are available online at http://www.uwgsc.org/ and are due no later than Mar. 5 at 4:00 p.m. Submissions should be mailed or delivered to: United Way of Greater Stark County, Attn: Elizabeth Ramsburg, 4825 Higbee Ave. N.W., Suite 101, Canton, Ohio 44718. Nominations will be reviewed by a United Way selection committee composed of staff and volunteers. Nominee applications will be evaluated based on scope of responsibility, motivation, initiative and length of service; impact of service, attitude, commitment and determination. Eligible nominees should have performed volunteer activities for United Way or one of its funded service providers.

 

2009 Gold Key recipients were Judge Mike Howard of Stark County Family Court and Carmela Lioi of Stark County Educational Service Center.  

Awards will be presented at the United Way of Greater Stark County’s annual meeting and campaign awards breakfast, Day of Thanks, at 7:30 a.m. on Wed., Mar. 24 at The University Center at Kent State University Stark Campus located at 6000 Frank Ave. N.W. in North Canton.
