Loyal Contributor Testimonial: Beth Alban
Company: YMCA Western Stark County
Contributor since: 1989

“As a kid growing up, my opportunities were limited when it came to being able to go somewhere like the YMCA. As a YMCA employee for 23 years, I have seen benefits from the dollars United Way has provided for children’s programs. Now it’s like I’m on the outside looking in, seeing how awesome it is for these kids to have this kind of childhood experience. I have always been interested in kids, and 20 years ago, United Way was the organization I felt strongly about in being secure and taking action to create change."

"In the future, I hope we see an increased improvement in preventative healthcare to help obesity in children, and promote an overall healthy lifestyle. I know I can count on United Way, and that the money is going to the agencies and not being spent frivolously. I have seen firsthand what United Way dollars have done to our community and feel they make a huge impact. If you build a strong community, then you have a better place to live. ”  – Beth Alban

United Way is grateful to have people like Beth Alban as a Loyal Contributor for 20 years. Beth is the Associate Executive Director of the YMCA of Western Stark County and has been giving through the payroll dedication method during her time with YMCA. Beth has been generous with her money along with working at a United Way funded agency, which has allowed her to be “hands on” in the improvements of the Stark County Community. She has seen through her work the tremendous difference United Way funds have made in her community and appreciates that donations will be put to good use.

Donor Testimonial: Andrew Boothe
Workplace Campaign Coordinator, 2009 United Way Annual Campaign

“To me, LIVE UNITED is a reminder that we are all connected, interdependent—that we are all people. When we think of other’s lives as connected to our own, our compassion grows.

My work in human resources allows me to see the potential for real change. When we think outside of ourselves and work together, we have the power to influence the condition of all.

You may have experienced in your own life, as I have—a time when people reached out to me and helped. For me, United Way is the best way to help the most people. It’s just the right thing to do.”    -Andrew Boothe
