Dozens of coordinators “rocked out” in Stark County with United Way’s first ever LIVE UNITED Tour 2012. With this two day tour, donors were able to get an exclusive look at the impact they have on their community.

The first part of the tour was all about the kids as coordinators sang songs and played games with children from Canton Preschool. Donors then went to J. R. Coleman where they finger painted and helped children plant a garden.

The second part of the tour moved west to Massillon where volunteers were given a tour of the new 19,000 square foot Salvation Army building as well as learning about YMCA Massillon’s new summer lunch program as they toured the YMCA.

The tour wrapped up in Eastern Stark County where donors were able to watch a truckload of food that they helped collect get unloaded at the Alliance Food Pantry. They were also able to see women in the community benefit from the YWCA of Alliance’s Woman’s Clothing Closet.

The tour was a great chance for Campaign Coordinators to connect with the people they help. Judging by the success of this first tour, you can expect that we’ll be rockin’ in 2013!
