On July 13 the Stark County Department of Job and Family Services employees volunteered their time, some of which used additional vacation time, to help serve lunches at the Salvation Army. The staff plans to serve lunches at the Salvation Army two more time this year.

Along with the time they are spending at the Salvation Army, the Stark County Department of Job and Family Services staff also has two blood drives and a food drive schedule this year. The blood drives usually result in donations from 40+ employees. The Stark County Department of Job and Family Services is also sponsoring a “Foster/Hope Walk” July 21 and a “Making Strides Walk” on October 24 for employees, family and friends.

The Stark County Department of Job and Family Services holds a free senior citizens forum each year. This year s event is Thursday, October 21 from 9:00 am 1:00 pm at the Mayfield Senior Center, 3825 13th Street SW in Canton. Some of their other annual charitable works include working with Project Karen, a charitable organization that provides Christmas and birthday presents and much more to Stark County s abused and neglected children, and the Foster Parent Fund, a charitable organization that recognizes and provides family oriented activities to Stark County foster families.
