Gold Key Service Award

Since 1961, the United Way has recognized community leaders and volunteers for the impact that they have

made on the Stark County community.The Gold Key Award recognizes those volunteers who have continually

demonstrated the highest degree of personal dedication and service in a voluntary capacity to the United Way

and/or service providers.

In 2009, Carmela Lioi and Judge Mike Howard were honored with the Gold Key Award.
Lioi was nominated for her service to students in Stark County as well as her major role
in the development of the iCare Stark County CARE Team Initiative. Howard was
recognized because of his service to United Way for the past ten years.
